Resilience Parenting Helps Moms (and Dads) Enjoy Their Kids!

A few weeks ago, I had the honor of being contacted by Ilse Wijnbergen to talk about our book. The concepts in Resilience Parenting resonated with her mission as a new mom so much that she reached out for a chat, all the way from the Netherlands. How wonderful is this modern world?

After her experience during the first six months of motherhood, Ilse was feeling a bit overwhelmed. Despite the love of her son, Milo, she ended each day feeling depleted, isolated, and struggling with guilt about not experiencing motherhood as a thing of joy.

However, rather than wallow, Ilse focused on one of the concepts that we speak about a lot in Resilience Parenting: Learning.

Ilse believed it possible to thrive in her role as a mother rather than merely survive. In the quest for this parenting ideal, she reached out to numerous mentors, including little ol’ me, for help. Best-selling authors, a child psychiatrist, a KonMari consultant, a post-partum specialist, several life coaches, and more–Ilse is working to unite these experts in a virtual conference to help moms worldwide create a feeling of abundance in their roles as parents.

It was a joy to speak with Ilse, and I believe her approach to this project is commendable. As I assured her in our interview, even the most confident of parents need reinforcement to stay motivated and well-directed. I hope you can participate!
